We cordially invite you to participate in the conference "Europe today and tomorrow - economy, society and environment", which will be held at the University's headquarters at ul. Toruńska 55-57 in Bydgoszcz, as a part of The International Open Science Days - organised since 2012.
We kindly invite both representatives of the scientific world and people from outside the academic community to participate in the Congress. A large group of students always participate in the deliberations. We hope that this research event will abound in many valuable observations and reflections. The participants included representatives of the social sciences, representing domestic and foreign research centers.

Conference main purpose
Europe is at a pivotal moment, shaped by pressing economic, social and environmental challenges and opportunities. This issue requires research and reflection both from within individual disciplines and from interdisciplinary perspectives. Conference main purpose will be the assessment and reflection on a breakdown of the current situation ("today") and future projections ("tomorrow") along these three dimensions:
Panel 1. Today’s landscape and tomorrow’s economic prospects
· Balancing economic growth with environmental preservation.
· Economic Inequalities - Regional disparities within Europe.
· The socioeconomic impact of inflation and the energy crisis on vulnerable populations
· Aging populations and their impact on healthcare, pensions, and labor markets.
· The future of labor market in Europe: Automation, AI, and the need for reskilling.
· Harmonization and changes in regulations concerning the functioning of enterprises
· Balancing relations with the U.S., China, and emerging markets.
Panel 2. Current situation and the future of European society
· Challenges and perspectives for multiculturalism in Europe.
· Socioeconomic impacts of migration and strategies for integration.
· Bridging the digital divide and fostering digital sovereignty.
· Promoting lifelong learning and inclusive access to education.
· Policies to address low birth rates and encourage family support systems.
· Lessons learned from disruptions caused by the pandemic and geopolitical tensions.
· Addressing mental health as a growing concern in post-pandemic Europe.
Panel 3. Inovations and challenges in achieving sustainable development goals
· Reducing waste and fostering sustainable production and consumption patterns.
· Innovations in recycling and upcycling industries.
· Scaling up nature-based solutions for urban and rural areas.
· Expanding renewable energy infrastructure and storage solutions.
· Balancing economic growth with environmental preservation.
· Implementing the European Green Deal.
· Reducing waste and fostering sustainable production and consumption patterns.
Publications:
Articles written on the basis of the presented presentations, after receiving a positive review, will be published in a peer-reviewed scientific monograph in the Publishing House of the Kujawsko-Pomorska Academy from the list of the Ministry of Education and Science or in bulleted scientific journals included in the list of the Ministry of Education and Science.
